To explore the scientific creativity of a scientist, a conducive environment is a primary requisite. Biogenomics has developed a state-of-art research facility equipped with the latest tools of research in modern biotechnology, providing the scientists with the necessary wherewithal to carry on their work Biogenomics is equipped with a very modern R&D facility, suited for the development of recombinant biotechnology based drugs. The facility has 20,000 sq.ft of laboratory area, divided in four independent laboratories.
  • Molecular Biology Lab: Molecular Cloning and Expression work.
  • Downstream Purification Lab: Protein purification.
  • Pilot plant for optimization: Simulations of upstream and downstream work for every r-DNA based therapeutic.
  • Protein characterization Lab: Recombinant protein characterizations, bioassay and tissue culture facility.
 
  • Automatic computer controlled bio-reactors of various capacities from 3L to 300L for microbial and mammalian cell culture
  • Cross-flow filtration systems of various types such as membrane, hollow fibre and ceramic, for handling filtration process upto a volume of 1000L.
  • Continuous flow centrifuge for handling large-scale separation processes upto a volume of 500L.
  • Homogenisers including a bead-mill and a high-pressure homogeniser for pilot scale cell disruption.
  • Sophisticated computer controlled chromatography systems for laboratory and pilot scale protein purification along with axial and radial flow and expanded bed columns of various sizes.
  • LC-MS/ MALDI-TOF for protein characterization
  • Automated DNA Sequencer
  • Pilot scale lyophilisers for aseptic freeze-drying.
  • Dry heat and steam sterilising equipments.
  • Other analytical instruments include Fluorescence and phase-contrast microscopes with camera and video attachments, Scanning Densitometer, Gel Documentation System, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Spectroflourimeter, HPCL, Thermocyclers etc.
